“home is the heart of life. home is where we feel at ease, where we belong, where we can create surroundings that reflect our tastes and pleasures. making a home is a form of creativity open to anyone.” terence conran
live well opens this form of creativity to you. making the most of your place and space begins by first finding the essence of you and your home. enhancing what you are grateful for brings happiness. instilling order in every room brings harmony. careful design and renovation as well as fabric, furniture and paint selection brings beauty. beauty brings the sense that you are truly living well.
to find the essence of you and your home, i first take time to understand what feeling you want to express in your home. what are your tastes and pleasures? how do you want friends and family to feel when they come to your home? what features of your home capture your imagination? does your family have meals together? which meals and where? do you entertain at home? if so, how and where? do special activities take place in your home (for example, does a daughter practise her dance steps, does a partner need a reading nook?)

once I consider the essence of you and your home, how you live, the environment your home sits in, your objectives and your budget, i research and plan. to give you my recommendations in the most helpful way, i write you an easy-to-follow report and create an inspiration folio. both are especially designed to carefully guide you through the re-design process.
the report details a step-by-step plan for improvements. these improvements could range from structural changes (for example, the removal of walls) right through to the type of paving to use in your courtyard.
the inspiration folio gives you examples and samples of what fittings, furnishings, fabrics and colours to use. take the folio with you when you go shopping and see how easy decision-making becomes!
you can choose to work with me as closely as you wish. i am available for advice at any stage of your home’s re-design.

my skill as a physiotherapist was being able to see the big picture of how a body could be feeling and moving well in its environment while at the same time seeing all the little muscles and tendons that must work together to bring the best result.
this is the same skill I bring to live well. i see the big picture of how to live well in your home and its environment as well as being able to see all the little details that must work together to bring the best result.
